It is one day before I have to run one mile for a fitness test. I want to run it in under 7 min 15sec. Advice?

Four months ago, I ran one mile in 7 minutes 53 seconds. I am twelve years old. I will be running mostly on grass, and a little bit on hard surfaces. I will be running with others.It is one day before I have to run one mile for a fitness test. I want to run it in under 7 min 15sec. Advice?
Run one mile today. Don't do more than that or you won't have enough energy tomorrow.





Time yourself and see how long the mile takes you. That will give yourself a good idea of how to pace yourself tomorrow.





You don't want to start out too fast or you'll run out of energy too quickly. Just run kind of leisurely, if you're not tired on the third lap, pick up your pace. Give it everything you've got on the last lap. The last fifty yards give 110%.

well good luck. Have you been training for it? If so you should do just fine. If not there's not much to do but hope for and try your best.
Just make sure and run each 1/4 mile in 1 minute and 39 seconds or less.
If you haven't been working out and running it is too late now.


I would suggest relaxing today to get your energy up. Drink lots of water, eat pasta and ice cream for dinner. This will give you plenty of carbs to help you thru the run. Take a moderate pase.


I'll bet you can do it under 7 minutes.


Find a good tune to pase yourself. I always used the Marine corps song to pase myself.
