My skin is dry and when I put on foundation it goes into lines and flakes. Any advice?

When I first put on foundation it looks good, but quickly dries into laughter lines etc and sometimes flakes. I moisturise, exfoliate and look after my skin.My skin is dry and when I put on foundation it goes into lines and flakes. Any advice?
DON`T do it,think of it as a lie all over your face. IT IS!!!My skin is dry and when I put on foundation it goes into lines and flakes. Any advice?
Try the Make-Up called Bare Minerals (also called Bare Essentuals). You can get it at QVC or on Ebay. It is great. I use it all the time. :o)
i use lotion it help keep your face smooth!!!
Girl, u need to use this product by Estee Lauder. It is pricey, but it is the ONLY product I have found to work w/my dry, flaky patches! It is called ';Idealist'; skin refinisher. It smells great and makes your skin feel silky smooth. Use this first and then put on your moisturizer, followed by your foundation.

U might also want to look at what u r cleansing ur skin w/. I have occasional oily breakouts so I use a Neutrogena cleanser w/salicyllic acid. This isn't good during the winter because it TOTALLY dries it up even more. So, in the winter, I switch to something milder...Cetaphil.
The exfoluant many be some of the problem, you are removing good oils as well. Try a makeup called Bare Minerals. it a powder with full coverage. I love it. It lasts 4 months for 20.00. Cant bet that. Ulta has it.
Try using a bit of moisturizure before adding the foundation and make it sure it's smoothed out. That shouldhelp.
try exfoliating your face first you can steam it by boiling some water put it in a large bowl hover you face above it with a towel on your head this open all of your pores ideal for cleansing or exfoliating this will leave you with a smooth layer of skin and your foundation will spread much better also try using a water based foundation no oily residue. Good Luck ; )!
Here's what I do, and I tend to dry, flaky skin:

Drink a lot of water.

Exfoliate GENTLY. You can get flakes from over-doing it!

After your shower, while you are still wet, rub a drop of olive oil into your skin, let it dry.

Apply moisturizer, creamy may be better for you than lotion. You can also mix a bit of your foundation with the moisturizer, goes on sheer, and doesn't cake up.
Apply a light coating of moisturizer (I use lotion) first!
exfoliate less and let the natural oils of your face moisturize it.If that is not enough then use CLINIQUE moisturizer you shall see the difference in 6 days
It might be bad foundation.

Or it might very well be that your skin is dry because you're dehydrated. My skin reacts exactly like that when that is the case. Drink a LOT of water for the next couple of days and see what happens.

Drink like 9-15 cups a day. Just as a test.

By the way, to stay hydrated you need to find out how much water YOUR body needs a day. Cut your body weight in half and that's how many OUNCES of water YOUR body needs to stay hydrated and healthy. Think about it. Everyone has a different body structure and weight. We all just can't drink 8 glasses a day.
Use a good moisturizer. Cetaphile is great for all types of skin as has little additives.
apply a moisturizer first
It could be the foundation you're using. I use Bare Minerals and I love it. Goes on awesome, looks natural and doesn't clog pores or settle into lines. Moisturizing is key also, although you mentioned that you do this already.
Keep piling on the foundation, like a plasterer would, until it's all nice and smooth.
a light moisturizer, perhaps Oil of Olay twenty to thirty minutes before you apply the foundation
try having a random stranger jizm on your face and smear it around with his tea bag. that'll cure the problem of you being ugly.
Maybe try using a different kind of moisturizer, try anything and everything until you find something that works. And while you are trying out these new moisturizers, try to hold off on putting on foundation. And if giving everything a try still doesn't work, then maybe you just have some kind of dry-skin condition, and I would suggest seeing a dermatologist in your area. Good luck! 8-)
I have recently started using Mary Kay cleanser and moisturizer. I have very dry flake skin also and I can not believe the change. I can now use foundation and blush without flakes and creases. I would recommend it for you. I had tried many expensive moisturizers before and this is the best I have used. Hope this helps.
A good way from keeping your face from getting so dry is to use some sort of scrub, I used apricot scrub from wal-mart, it's cheap but it works, it really helps get rid of all the dead skin and then put some lotion on your face. That should help with the makeup thing. I don't use makeup, so I honestly don't know about foundation or anything like that, but I'm assuming that the lotion will work
drink lot of liquids, that will regain moisture in your skin slowly a natural way. Simply if u r thirsty drink sufficently, otherwise dont drink, its that easy.
Get a foundation that has oil in it. If your skin is dry, the oil should help, not damage.
