2001 Kia Sportage 4cyl. Seems to be running on 2 cyl Any advice?

if it is, then ONE of your ignition coils has died. maybe its just corrosion on the connector though..





they use 2 coil packs, one for the #1 and #4 cylindres and the other coil pack for the #2 and #3 cylinders. it firs 2 cylinders at the same time,one on the top of the compression stroke and the other at the top of the exhaust stroke. of course the exhaust stroke is a wasted spark, but it`s easier to just fire at 2 cylinders at once rather than make a distruibiter and all that.
