That's a very personal decision that will remain with you for the rest of your life. Why don 't you make a list of the good and bad things about changing your name? That will help you decide.
Here's some good information I found on the web:
I just don't like my birth name and I want to change it. Can I choose any name I want?
There are some restrictions on what you may choose as your new name. Generally, the limits are as follows:
* You cannot choose a name with fraudulent intent -- meaning you intend to do something illegal. For example, you cannot legally change your name to avoid paying debts, keep from getting sued or get away with a crime.
* You cannot interfere with the rights of others, which generally means choosing the name of a famous person with the intent to mislead. For example, most judges will not approve your renaming yourself George Bush or William (Bill) Clinton unless you have a convincing reason not related to the famous politicians.
* You cannot use a name that would be intentionally confusing. This might be a number or punctuation -- for example, ';10,'; ';III,'; or ';?.';
* You cannot choose a name that is a racial slur.
* You cannot choose a name that could be considered a ';fighting word,'; which includes threatening or obscene words, or words likely to incite violence.
Hope this helps.If your NAME ISN'T sound good or feel good, would you be going to change it? who would you ask for advice?
You can ask your lawyer to do the changes or revision but it will take a long legal process because all your documents from your birth have to be changed. My simple advice is just stick to your beautiful name, what is important is the man/woman behind the name
Love my name, although you can't find it engraved or embossed anywhere like other names
Cherilyn
An attorney is needed to legally change your name. Consult with him or her first. Then, to honor your parents and heritage, discuss this with an elder in your family.
EITHER CHANGE IT OR GO FOR A GOOD NICKNAME OR GO WITH THE MIDDLE, OR WHATEVER YOU LIKE AND WANT TO BE CALLED.
i wouldn't change my name
Only you can decide that! If you decide to do it, you can file all the paperwork yourself and it costs about $500
U WOULD FIRST ASK THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE U THE NAME AND ASK THE REASON WHY THEY GAVE IT TO U AND ALWAYS KNOW WHAT UR NAME MEANS
It's too much trouble and you always end up with people calling you the old name anyway
ur question is confusing but no i like my name even though its wierd its lopria and peole say its cute or nice i think there just trying to be nice
I didnt like my name but got used to it and now i like so wouldn't change it. it would be weird to be called somethingelse now.
If my name was someting considered ridiculous in the society in which I lived, I would definitely change it.
I added names to my name when I got divorced and changed my last name back to my maiden name. I looked on line and got a deed poll company to do it for me, now my chosen name is officially the one I changed it to.
I would ask myself.
you should go to court i think
I have a very good name
still if I have to ask anybody than I'll go for ';YOU';
Yes, I would ask any one who I can trust
For one it coast to much money and to much time. If I really did not like my name I would just use my middle name or something that sounds like my name. I could never change it because I just think thats wrong to your parents may hurt their feelings and i dont wanna do that ever.
