I am taking my family of five to Egypt this Christmas. Anybody has budgetary advice?

What would I pay for a KFC /Mcdonalds meal for 5? What does a buffet dinner at a respectable restaurant cost?


What are the recliner seats in the overnight train like? Should I upgrade to the sleeper coach? Is there a church in Cairo where we could attend a Christmas morning service?I am taking my family of five to Egypt this Christmas. Anybody has budgetary advice?
KFC/McDonalds is about 25 pounds a person, so about 125 LE total, which is around $25.





The recliner seats being the normal seats just overnight? I took the train from Alex to Aswan on the normal overnight, and I didn't have a problem, though a family might think differently than a cheap student. They're kinda smelly, the lights are on all night, and it's not really comfortable, but it isn't bad either. It depends on what your family's up for, I guess.





There are many many churches in Cairo. Most of them are Coptic, but there are Catholic and protestant as well. I know in Alex there's a 7th day Adventist church, so who knows about Cairo. You might have to do some digging, or ask at an embassy or another church, but I'm sure you'll find one.





One thing I have to say though is you might want to skip the McD/KFC. You're gonna be in Egypt, you could eat all of that stuff anywhere else. Egyptian food won't make you sick and definitely isn't bad. A falafel or fuul sandwich is filling, yummy, and .75 LE. Koshary, pretty much the national dish of Egypt, is about 5-7 pounds a person. The same with Shwerma, what we know as a gyro, it goes for about 7-9 pounds and is delicious. Many egyptian restaurants, especially in Cairo, speak English and have menus in it, or have someone who will help you. It'd be a waste to go all the the way to Cairo and miss out on such an element of the culture.I am taking my family of five to Egypt this Christmas. Anybody has budgetary advice?

Meals at The fast food shops like MacDonald %26amp; KFC will cost you around 25 to 35 Egyptian Pounds per person which is about 4 Dollars each





Open buffet restaurant will cost you about 13 Dollars per person





Sleeping train is the best at the moment we don't have domestic sleeping coach





There is a Church in Egypt but i think it is different that what you are on


as all the Church in Egypt are Coptic





also check the website in the sources and you will be able to have a better idea about what you can do in each Egyptian city while you are visiting

A buffet dinner for 5 will make about $80 to $100


Sleeper coach are comfortable


As for the church, I have no clue, maybe one of our christian bros can tell you
